Monitoring URLs

To add URLs to monitor go to the Configurator and click the Add Server button

Next fill  out the short form that pops up.  Select URL as the Server Type and fill in the rest of the boxes, as shown in this example below:

Depending on your browser, the next form should display automatically, but if it does not just locate the new URL you just added in the server list.  Fill out the remaining attributes, such as Enable For Scanning

URL specific attributes

You can search the text which is returned by the URL and trigger an alert condition if specific text is found.  You can also specify a username and password if one is required to access the page.

Remember that if you want VitalSigns to notify you if any alert conditions are detected with URLs, you need to have a Notification Definition (under Alerts) which subscribes to these event types.
