New Features

  • Office 365 monitoring:
    • o Ability to track O365/AD directory sync.  VitalSigns compares the target sync interval with the actual interval
      • Improved Overall O365 health page
      • Moved long running O365 tasks into separate thread
  • o Additional Directory health tests including AD FS Functionality Test, Directory Synchronization Test, Password Sync Services of ADFS and & Dir

Improvements

  • Major improvements to Log file scanning for Domino servers
  • Redesigned Traveler Health Page.  The graphs which previously were under the list of servers have been moved to the server detail page on a new tab "Traveler Health" which also shows two new graphs, C memory and Java memory consumption over time.
  • Added a disk health summary column to the overall Server Status List
  • Enhanced Exchange reporting.  New reports include ‘top 10 users by mail usage’ and ‘mail database size trend’
  • Improved the User Interface in report pages
  • SQL changes to enable faster loading reports and graphs
  • Added more options to scheduled reports, including Disk Health (By Location) and Domino Server Health
  • The Mail Volume report now has the option of showing Monthly in addition to Daily statistics

  • The default execution time for Scheduled Reports was changed to allow daily tasks service to collect full data first.  
  • A progress bar was implemented to indicate an ongoing operation, such as importing multiple servers.
  • Enhanced URL monitoring. The text returned by a URL can now be scanned to see if a particular string is present, and common error codes, such as 504 are detected and alerted
  • Improved the performance of the VitalSigns Microsoft service.
  • Optimized the function that stores statistics between scans in the Domino service.
  • Modified the Domino server details page to show system information in a consistent manner with the WebSphere system information page.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed multiple alerts issue caused by duplicate log file keyword alerts.
  • Fixed Exchange alerting issue caused by incomplete data collection.
  • Fixed Alert Definition page issue with the Windows Event option. Newly added Windows events are now saved correctly.
  • Automated cleanup of transaction log to prevent “Transaction Log is full” error.
  • Log file send error is now captured and displayed properly.
  • “Filter the view” list no longer displays non-applicable options.
  • Fixed issue causing duplicate server entries in the Cluster Health page.
  • Rounded the numbers for all graphs and charts on the Sametime Health page.
  • Recalibrated Sametime Response Time graph.
  • Fixed week number calculation used in reporting.
  • Fixed “insufficient number of licenses” false error.
  • Fixed issue with servers stuck in ‘TELNET’ mode.
  • Fixed various issues with Master Service.  For instance, retry intervals are enforced when the master service fails to start, and if the service fails to start due to insufficient disk space it deletes the log files rotation folder.
  • Master Service now performs a weekly clean-up for decommissioned servers (servers no longer being scanned or monitored).
  • IBM fix pack was applied to fix VitalSigns SOAP connectivity issue due to WebSphere AppClient bug.
  • Removed access to Overall Health pages when the Dashboard and Executive Summary buttons are hidden on the login screen.  Previously these pages could be accessed by manually copying/pasting the respective page links.
  • Fixed issue scanning Notes databases with an apostrophe in the title.

Patch Releases

  • Patch 1 - restores columns inadvertently removed from the Traveler Health page
  • Patch 2 - Fix for remote PowerShell commands which were leaving files behind in the temp folder
  • Patch 3

    • Modified the service to collect Sametime stats (peak login, total chats, and total n-way chats) from stlog.nsf instead of the servlet. The overall Sametime stats page was fixed to display the stats correctly.

    • A cleanup script runs daily as part of the MS service to ensure any remaining Module files created by VitalSigns are removed from the Windows/temp folder
