You can enable recurring alert options to prevent VitalSigns from constantly sending you alerts when an issue is not necessarily critical. For example, your Traveler status may toggle between a yellow and green status for a short period throughout the day. You may not want to be informed about every instance when this occurs. With recurring alerts, you have the option to receive a single alert if the issue occurs more than X number of times in an hour.

Step 1 (Figure 2-26)

  • Go to Alerts -> Alert Settings
  • Select the Recurring Alerting tab
  • Select the checkbox to the left of Alert about recurrences only
  • Enter a value for the Number of recurrences (Note: this value is the number of times the event must fail before VitalSigns alerts you of a problem)
  • Select the events/alerts for which you want to restrict alerts
  • Click OK to save the changes
