An IBM Traveler server is an IBM Domino server with Traveler installed on it.   VitalSigns can automatically detect which Domino servers are running Traveler and perform most Traveler-specific tests against it without additional configuration.  However, some tests (such as testing the servlet) require additional information and credentials beyond what is required for an ordinary Domino server.

Step 1 (Figure 4-17)

  • Import the Domino/Traveler server to be monitored (see section 2.2.1)
  • Go to Servers & Devices -> IBM Domino -> Servers
  • Click the Edit button next to the appropriate Domino/Traveler server
  • Scroll down to the Traveler settings section
  • Enter the external alias name (i.e. external server URL)
  • Note: not all environments will use an external URL. For example, if you use a DMZ you will need to enter a hostname. Check the Notes Traveler tab of the Domino/Traveler server document to view your external URL
  • Do not put http:// or www (example: hostname.com)

Step 2 (Figure 4-17)

  • Select appropriate credentials from the Credentials drop down list (Note: if there are no users to select, you must create credentials under Stored Passwords & Options -> Server Credentials, see section 2.1.6)

OR

  • Add New credentials by click the Add Credentials drop down button
  • Note: you must use the internet password associated with the Notes ID to obtain Traveler servlet information
  • Select the checkbox  to the left of This server requires SSL if your server requires SSL (i.e. HTTPS)
  • Click OK to save the changes
