Configuring Office365 for monitoring

The Office365 functionality for VitalSigns can be enabled by completing the following steps. These installers will allow VitalSigns to monitor all things related to Office365.


Step 1


To monitor Office365 activities, the feature enablers must first be downloaded.


  1. Go the VitalSigns Download Page.
  2. Locate the Feature Enablers (latest version) link and click to open.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to locate the Office365 logo.
  4. Underneath the logo, locate and download two files:
     O365Enabler.exe & O365_Others.exe
  5. Run O365Enabler.exe first.
    1. Click Next
    2. Click I Agree
  6. Run O365_Others.exe
    1. Clicke Next
    2. Click I Agree
  7. Restart the System/VM for the changes to take effect.



Step 2


The VitalSigns for Microsoft service must be enabled and started for Office 365 to be monitored.

  1. Open up the Services application
  2. Scroll down to the VitalSigns services
  3. Right click on the VitalSigns for Microsoft service, and click on the Properties option
  4. In the Startup type drop-down menu, select the Manual option
  5. Click OK
  6. Start the service



Step 3


The credentials must be added Credentials for the Office365 environment you wish to monitor.

  1. Navigate to the Credentials tab, on the Application Settings page, located in the Configurator navigation tab
  2. Click Add
  3. Enter in the credentials used to access Office 365
  4. Click Save



Step 4


The Office365 server must be added to VitalSigns to be monitored.

  1. Navigate to the Server List page, located in the Configurator navigation tab.
  2. Click the Add Server button
  3. Fill out the server information

    It's assumed that at this point both a Location and Business Hours at some point. If this is not the case, a guide on how to do this can be found here: Location | Business Hours

    In the IP field input a single space. Office365 monitoring does not require an IP, but the field needs at least one character to be submitted

  4. Click Save.
  5. Select the Server from the Server List and click Enable for scanning
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the Server Information page and click Save
