For new VitalSigns installations the following components will be installed automatically as part of the prerequisites wizard onto the workstation. You do not need to install these components in advance.
- Web Server (Application)
- Microsoft IIS 6.0 or higher
- Run-time Environment
- Latest .NET Framework
- Java Runtime Environment (Sun JRE latest version)
- Microsoft SQL Server Express
You have a choice about which database to use. Typically Microsoft SQL Server Express is used as it has no licensing requirement. However some companies have existing SQL Server instances in production and may opt to use those servers instead.
